CLOC
Musical Theatre is excited that from 2010, we
are performing our productions at the historical
National Theatre in St.Kilda.
Since the beginning of 2009,
CLOC had been in negotiations with the management
of the Alexander Theatre at Monash to secure
an ongoing booking, these negotiations irrevocably
broke down.
In the interests of CLOC's future
and the privacy of our customers in securing
customer data and maintaining the affordability
of ticket prices, negotiations came to an impasse.
As a result CLOC took the opportunity to upgrade
to a larger, more suitable venue to cater for
our patrons and the ongoing growth of CLOC.
Therefore, after 38 years at
the Alexander Theatre, the CLOC Committee made
the decision to move to the National Theatre
in St Kilda. CLOC's first show in the
National Theatre was DUSTY – The Original
Pop Diva performed in May - June 2010.
The National Theatre, was originally
built in 1920 as the 3000 seat Victory Theatre
for the presentation of films before being renovated
in 1974 to become a full scale theatre catering
for over 700 patrons. We are delighted to be
providing a greater seating capacity to our
patrons and better facilities right in the heart
of St.Kilda.
The other sections of this part
of the CLOC website provide further information
to facilitate and assist in the transition to
this new exciting venue.
We hope that you will join us
and support us at the National Theatre - St
Kilda.
